In our recent client survey, the clearest feedback was what a difference the care workers make in people lives. It wasn’t just the practical help that was provided but the way that the care workers interacted, listened and supported.

Home Care Assistance Newcastle only employees the most beautiful care workers. We look for people that have the compassion and the personal values that respect others and treat them with dignity. Care workers that genuinely care about their clients and the important work that they do every day.

All our care workers are professionals and committed to a career in caring. All of them have formal qualifications in aged care support and the experience to know what to do. From our amazing nursing students at the start of their career to our older care workers that have a lifetime of experience to share

The Federal Government has recently released a Code of Conduct for Aged Care. They are aiming to ensure that all aged care delivered in home and residential setting is delivered with clients in mind:

  • Provide genuine support and communicating with the office where support can improve
  • Act with integrity, honesty and transparency
  • Take reasonable steps to prevent harm to our clients, including all forms of violence, discrimination, exploitation, neglect and abuse and sexual misconduct.

Meet some of our amazing care workers:

Mollie Green (21) – 10 months with HCA

“Working in the aged care sector is such a rewarding experience knowing that the smallest things that we do as care workers can have such an impact on the people we see.

‘I was drawn to Home Care Assistance because of the amazing community that they’ve created within the staff and clients. It’s so lovely to see the wonderful work achieved by the staff that aim to keep our clients happy and healthy in their own homes, as well as the relationships that are built along the way. I feel so fortunate to be a part of such a special team.

‘I’ve always had a passion for working with people and have always had an interest in the healthcare industry, so choosing nursing as a career path seemed like a good fit for me. It’s great to be able to practice a lot of nursing skills through working with Home Care Assistance.’

Robyn McDonald (73) – 5+ years with HCA

Robyn was a bank teller, “one of the most enjoyable parts of being on the desk was chatting to the oldies as they came through”

When she retired, Robyn wanted to try something new. After helping to care for her mother, auntie, and disabled niece aged care seemed natural, she had the experience and just needed the accreditation

Robin originally stumbled across Home Care Assistance Newcastle in a magazine, that was over 5 years ago and Robyn is our longest-serving care worker.

“I love being a care worker because of how grateful these people are to be receiving the care that they need in their homes. It genuinely makes me happy to make others happy and as a Care Worker I have the opportunity to do just that.”

“As a care worker I have learnt so much from my clients, they never cease to teach me lessons and pass along their knowledge”
